| The Womans Connection(sm) [Womans-Connection.com] ..."Events shaping women's lives and helping them gain authentic power on a personal or professional level." Producer: Ms. Barrie Switzen The Womans Connection is a bi-monthly cable television show, with a recently launched website. The show and site content offers female entrepreneurs advice on topics regarding law, promotion, health and career planning. The establishment of a loyal user base has migrated to the web as a subscriber base. The show 'Streams' from the site on a bi-monthly schedule as well. Recommendations were made to either host both the site and digital files with one service or host the streams elsewhere. Due to budget constraints and the fledgling launch we opted for a temporary secondary host for audio only sample files of past shows. |
The re-purposing of archived content as a possible subscription based resource has been suggested to The Womans Connection. Revenue streams both traditional and web based are being explored. Currently the staff is being mentored in bandwidth calculation, video and audio digitizing and encoding into popular streaming formats, software and hardware assessment, codecs, shooting for the web, streaming formats and current technology usage. All of this and more is deemed necessary, towards future long-term revenue planning when secure delivery of subscription based distance-education is an affordable reality for both site and audience. |
